MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP/WCBS 880) -- A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in the January slaying of the mother of a friend in Jefferson Township.
The charges against Demetrius Diaz-Bridges were announced Monday. The Morris County Prosecutor's Office says he was found Friday in Raleigh, N.C.
He is being held in the Wake County Jail pending extradition.
Elizabeth O'Brien's two sons called police when they came home from school and found blood in their apartment. The 49-year-old's body was in the upstairs bedroom. She was beaten to death.
Prosecutors say the suspect had spent the prior night at the home. He lived nearby at the time.
