Supervisor Sentenced in New York State Capitol "Man Cave" Case

ALBANY, NY (AP)  -- A former maintenance supervisor at the Empire State Plaza was sentenced to 5 years probation and ordered to pay $1,500 for goofing off on the job.

Officials say 51-year-old Louis Marciano of Rensselaer and co-worker Gary Pivoda spent workdays in a secret ``man cave'' doing drugs, watching TV and napping.

Marciano, who worked for the state for more than 31 years, resigned under a plea deal reached in November. He had faced up to 7 years in prison on several charges.

His sentencing Monday in Albany County Court came three weeks after Pivoda received a year in jail and was ordered to repay the state for wasted time.
