Judge Revokes Bail and Sends Bernard Kerik To Jail

NEW YORK (WCBS 880)  -- Former New York City Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik is heading to jail.

WCBS Reporter Irene Cornell says the judge at the Federal Court in White Plains, New York is revoking Kerik's bail and ordering him straight to jail.

This comes on the eve of Kerik's trial for helping mob-connected carting company in exchange for work done on his house.

Judge Steven Robinson finds Kerik arrogant and self-minded and needs to get a clue.

Robinson says Kerik's been violating court...hiring sham lawyers to pollute the jury pool and tamper with witnesses.

The judge says he has no confidence that Kerik will stop this conduct, that he's lied to him in the past... and he sees the judge's order as an obstacle to get around.

The one-time possible candidate for the top job at Homeland Security has failed to earn the trust of the judge.
