Arrested Made Jewelry Store Stabbing

New York -- Police say a former employee at a jewelry store on Manhattan's Upper East Side has been arrested in the stabbing death of the shop's bookkeeper.

David Andrango, 29, of Queens has been arrested on charges of second-degree murder.

The body of 52-year-old Sandra Rodriguez was found early Friday in a back room of the Michael Dawkins boutique on East 65th Street. Police say she had been slashed across her torso.

Rodriguez's family grew worried when she did not return to her Bronx home after work and called police.

Officials say Andrango had been fired from the store before the incident. His phone number was unlisted.
