Construction to Cause Delays for Holland Tunnel
|
JERSEY CITY, NJ (AP) -- The New Jersey Turnpike Authority is warning commuters to avoid the Holland Tunnel leaving New York.
Authority spokesman Joseph Orlando says emergency construction to repair a hole on the Newark Bay Extension bridge deck just east of Interchange 14A will close a westbound lane for several hours Wednesday afternoon.
That could back up traffic all the way to the Holland Tunnel during the evening commute.
Motorists are urged to select alternate routes.
