Bear Sightings in Rockland County

NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP/WCBS 880)  -- Two bear sightings in Rockland County have Clarkstown town police advising residents to take precautions.
    
One of the bears was seen rummaging for food near Clarkstown North High School on Congers Road Thursday night.

Another sighting was earlier in the day [LoHud] in Congers about one mile from the school, on the other side of the Lake DeForrest Reservoir. Police could not say if it were two diffferent bears or one animal on the move.
    
Police advise people to keep their garbage tightly covered and not leave any food outside.
