JERSEY CITY, NJ (AP) -- Some Jersey City residents are advised to boil their water because of a water main break.
The advisory includes homes and businesses in the Newport section from 18th Street and Washington Boulevard south to Morris Street.

The break in the 30-inch main occurred around 4 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 18th and Washington.
The utility says residents in the Newport section should boil their water before cooking, washing food, brushing teeth or making ice cubes.
The utility says water does not need to be boiled for showering, washing dishes or clothing.
United Water says Jersey City residents in that area can expect lower than normal water pressure or even no water in high rise buildings.
Repairs are expected to take most of the day.
