Former Connecticut Police Constable Sentenced for Repeatedly Sexually Assaulting Boy
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) -- A former Connecticut police constable has been sentenced to at least 15 years in prison for sexually assaulting a Massachusetts boy repeatedly in the early 1990s.
Alden Hewett received the minimum sentence of 15 years in prison with a maximum of 20 from Berskshire District Judge John Agostini on Tuesday.
Hewett, a co-owner of a ski area, is a former police constable in New Hartford, Conn., and was once suspected of molesting several boys in that state in the 1970s and 1980s.
State police said in a 1992 report that they could not bring any charges against Hewett because none of those cases fell within the statute of limitations.
