NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- When New Jersey Senate President Dick Codey speaks, the DOT listens.
Tired of the bumpy ride on Rte 280, Codey sent a letter to Department of Transportation Commissioner Kris Kolluri about all the potholes he tries to avoid.
'I wrote the letter as a commuter and as the President of the Senate,' said Codey to WCBS Anchor Steve Scott in an interview, 'As someone who's obligated by holding that office to make sure that my constituents and the people of New Jersey get service and serviced well.'

The DOT promises to fix those potholes, and if you want to report a pothole by calling 1-800-POTHOLE or fill out a form on the DOT's website.
Codey says if those potholes don't get fixed soon, you may see him with shovel in hand to do it himself
