NORWICH, Conn (AP) -- Victims of the massive apartment complex fire in Norwich are on the receiving end of a lot of help from strangers.
Donors have given so many toys, kitchen ware, furniture, bedding and other essentials, that city officials are running out of room to hold all the items.
In addition, thousands of dollars have been sent to a bank account established for victims.
Officials say fast-moving firefighters are credited for clearing the 120 unit apartment complex during last weekend's fire, preventing loss of human life and serious injuries.
However, dozens of pets are missing and presumed dead following the blaze that leveled the 120-unit Peachtree Apartments complex early Saturday morning.
Fire officials say the investigation is continuing.
