Former DCF Convicted of Drugging Co-Worker

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP)  -- A former employee of the Department of Children and Families, already in prison for sexually assaulting a co-worker, has been convicted of drugging and assaulting three other women at the agency.

John Peloso III entered pleas to three counts of second-degree assault Monday under the Alford Doctrine, in which he doesn't admit guilt, but acknowledges the state has enough evidence to secure a conviction.

The three women told police they became sick [Courant] after taking drinks from Peloso in 2001 and 2002. Prosecutors say Peloso told one woman they had consensual sex.

Peloso was sentenced to eight years in prison on assault and sexual assault charges for drugging and fondling another woman in 2004.

Peloso, who was fired by DCF, is scheduled to be sentenced for his latest convictions on Oct. 27.
