Inmates Raise Money for Connecticut Police Department
BROOKLYN, Conn. (AP) -- Two eastern Connecticut police departments have received $3,000 donated by prison inmates to help investigate domestic abuse cases.
The agency will buy digital cameras and other items for domestic violence investigation kits for the Plainfield and Putnam police departments.
Officers will have the kits with them on patrol to help investigate and document domestic violence.
Plainfield Deputy Police Chief Michael Surprenant the investigation kits will greatly enhance the department's ability to document instances of domestic violence.
Putnam Police Chief Rick Hayes agrees, calling the donation a huge plus for his department.
