LIRR Fatally Strikes Man

MASSAPEQUA PARK, N.Y. (AP) -- A Long Island Rail Road train has fatally struck a man at a station.
LIRR spokesman Salvatore Arena says the man was not authorized to be on the tracks. The incident, which occurred at the Massapequa Park station around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, involved a westbound train headed to Penn Station.
There was no other information about the man.
Service had been shut down at the station, but was restored by 2:15 p.m.
