BAY SHORE, NY (AP) -- You can expect long lines at the gas pump today at one Long Island service station. As a publicity stunt - a Long Island Radio Station is offering gasoline for $1.06 per gallon. Islip Town Supervisor Phil Nolan says people will also be protesting the high price of gas and what they are doing to family budgets. The promotion is at the Lukoil Station on East Main Street and Brentwood Road in Bay Shore at noon.
With gasoline hitting close to $4 per gallon -- motorists will be able to save about $40 filling up their tank for $1.06 per gallon.
Radio station WBLI, which is 106.1 FM, will also have station personalities at the gas station.
