Man Found Guilty of Attacking Girlfriend with Scissors

NEW YORK (AP) -- A New York City man has been found guilty of savagely attacking his girlfriend with scissors as she held their
5-month-old son.
Prosecutors on Thursday announced the conviction of Intquab Ali. He faces up to 25 years in prison for attempted murder, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Ali went to the home of Nalenie Tilak's on June 23, 2006, even though she had an order of protection against him.
Prosecutors say he hit Tilak on the face and head with the scissors, which became lodged in her neck.
The baby also was hit on the head during the dispute. |
