1. How to Enter the Contest:
a) The WCBS(AM) / Mercedes Benz Trivia contest (the “Contest”) will begin on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 5:00pm Eastern Time (“ET”) and end on Friday, October 3, 2008 at 7:00pm ET. One Grand Prize winner will be chosen on or around the week of October 13, 2008.
b) To participate in the Contest, listeners will be directed to the WCBS(AM) website at wcbs880.com where they will answer a baseball trivia question which will be announced during each game and posted on the website. Each question will be posted on the website for one week . There will be only one trivia question per week. To enter on-line you must enter your first name and last name, complete address, city, state, zip code, telephone number, date of birth and a valid e-mail address in the on-line entry form. One Internet entry per person and one Internet entry per e-mail address each week. Internet entries will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization that is responsible by assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Multiple particpants are not permitted to share the same email address. All entires submuitted become the sole property of WCBS(AM) and will not be acknowledged or returned. Use of any automate entry is prohibited.
c) To be eligible for each week’s drawing, entries must be received by each Sunday at 11:59:59pm ET. Any entry received after this time will not be eligible for that week’s drawing. For purposes of these Official Rules, “receipt” of an online entry will be solely determined when the contest Administrator’s website server records the entry data. Any automated computer form reply or receipt (such as one confirming delivery of email) does not constitute actual receipt by Administrator of an entry form for purposes of these Official Rules. The Station’s computer is the official time keeping device for this Contest.
d) Station is not responsible for entries not received due to difficulty accessing the Internet, service outages or delays, computer difficulties or other technological glitches.
e) Limit of one entry per person per email address each week. A contestant may only win one (1) Weekly Prize .
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
a) The Contest is open to all WCBS(AM) listeners who are 25 years of age or older and who reside in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut. Employees of WCBS(AM), its licensee, its corporate parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, its advertising agencies, participating sponsors/promotional partners, other radio stations in the New York metropolitan area and the members of their immediate families/households are ineligible to participate or win.
b) Listeners are eligible to win a WCBS(AM) contest only once every 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest.
c) Contestants are required to provide truthful information and WCBS(AM) will reject and delete any entry it discovers to be false or fraudulent. WCBS(AM) will also disqualify any entry received from persons under the minimum age requirement specified for this contest and will also delete the entries received from any person under the age of 13 in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
d) Grand Prize winner must hold a valid driver’s license.
3. Prizes: All prizes will be awarded pending confirmation of eligibility.
a) Weekly Prizes: Two (2) weekly prizes may be awarded each week over the course of the season, for a total of 26 weeks for a maximum of 52 total weekly prizes. For every week during the 2008 regular season, two listeners will win a Fuji Fine Pix Z100 FD Digital Camera. Approximate Retail Value of each Weekly Prize: $ 300.00. Aggregate Retail Value of all Weekly Prizes: $15,600.00.
b) Grand Prize: One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for two (2) to Tampa, FL, in March of 2009 at a time selected by the Station in its sole and absolute discretion. Trip is valued at approximately $2,000.00. Prize includes roundtrip economy class airfare, from a New York City area airport to Tampa, FL, first class double occupancy hotel accommodations for three days/two nights, and a rental car for three days. Winner will be responsible for any upgrade costs, fuel charges, and mileage overage costs associated with the rental car. Winner and guest must be at least 25 years of age. Travel companions of winner must travel with winner on the same travel itinerary and must travel on dates specified by the Station. Winner and travel companion are solely responsible for obtaining travel insurance (and all forms of insurance) where applicable, at their option, and hereby acknowledge that the Station has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance. Any winners of certificates/vouchers will be subject to the terms and conditions as set forth by the provider of the certificate/voucher. Grand prize winner and travel companion are solely responsible for all applicable taxes including but not limited to hotel, hospitality and airport taxes, telephone charges, meals, gratuities, ground transportation and any other expenses not specifically offered herein. Grand prize winner may be required to present a valid credit card upon hotel check-in to cover incidental expenses incurred during stay. Other restrictions may apply. All travelers must possess required travel documents (e.g. valid photo I.D.) prior to departure. If winner cannot travel on dates selected by station, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected.
c) Aggregate Retail Value of all prizes: $17,600.00.
d) All prizes or prize certificates may be picked up at the office of WCBS(AM), 524 W 57th Street, New York, NY 10019. Any prize or prize certificate not claimed within forty-five (45) days of winning will be forfeited by the winner. In the event that a prize or prize certificate is mailed to the winner, it will be with the prior written consent of the winner and therefore, winner assumes the risk of its loss. WCBS(AM) is not responsible for the safe arrival of a prize or prize certificate.
e) Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash, except that Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, substitute prizes of comparable value or cash. The prizes are expressly limited to the item(s) listed above and do not include taxes, gratuities or any other expenses. Other restrictions may apply.
4. Selection of Winners:
a) Decisions of station management with respect to the contest are final.
b) Two weekly winners will be chosen every Monday morning after 8:00am starting on Monday, April 7, 2008 [CONFIRM DATES.] and ending on Monday, October 6, 2008. There will be a maximum of 52 [CONFIRM NUMBER.] weekly winners. Each weekly winner will be contacted by email or phone. Weekly winners will be selected by a random drawing of all entries submitted the week prior that correctly answer the week prior’s trivia question. If the winner(s) cannot be contacted within ten (10) days after the prize is awarded, an alternate winner will be selected from a random drawing of all remaining eligible entries from that week’s entry pool. In the event no entry contains a correct answer to the trivia question, no prize will be awarded that week.
c) The Grand Prize Winner will be chosen from a pool of all weekly winners on or around the week of October 13, 2008 and contacted by phone or email. If the Grand Prize Winner cannot be contacted within one (1) week after the prize is awarded, an alternate winner will be selected from a random drawing of all remaining weekly winners.
d) Participants need not listen or be present to win.
5. Conditions:
a) Payment of all federal, state and local taxes is solely the responsibility of the winner. Winners may be required to sign an IRS Form W-9 or the equivalent.
b) By participating in the contest, the winner or winners (and their guest or traveling companion, if any) agree to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest without additional financial or other compensation, and, where legal, to sign a publicity release confirming such consent prior to acceptance of the prize.
c) Prior to awarding any prize or prize certificate, WCBS(AM) in its sole discretion may require contest winners (and their travel companions, if any) to sign a liability release agreeing to hold WCBS(AM), its corporate licensee, its parent, subsidiary and affiliated corporations and the officers, shareholders, directors, employees, agents and representatives of each of them harmless against any and all claims or liability arising directly or indirectly from the prize or participation in the contest.
d) WCBS(AM), in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the WCBS(AM) Web Site or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. The station further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is not capable of completion as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
e) WCBS(AM) reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest including the substitution of a prize or prizes of equivalent value, which will become effective upon announcement.
f) Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in a contestant’s disqualification, at the sole discretion of WCBS(AM).
g) WCBS(AM) is not responsible for typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of the contest or in the announcement of a prize.
h) Copies of the written contest rules and a list of all winners (when complete) are available during regular business hours at the main studio of WCBS(AM), 524 W 57th Street, New York, NY 10019 or by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to WCBS(AM).
