Mom Doubts Cruise Ship's Story of Missing Woman

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP)  -- The mother of a woman who is missing after going overboard during a cruise says she has doubts about the story from the cruise line.

Norwegian Cruise Lines says Mindy Jordan was apparently trying to climb between balconies on a cruise ship when she fell overboard in the Atlantic Ocean, some 45 miles from Atlantic City.

But Louise Horton, the mother of the New Jersey woman, says she has doubts -- partly because she says her daughter was in an abusive relationship with the man she was traveling with. The man continued with The Norwegian Dawn as it headed to Bermuda.

The FBI confirmed to The Philadelphia Inquirer that it is looking into Jordan's disappearance.

The Coast Guard says it has ended its search for Jordan.
