Constantly creating ways to attract fans to a see team that has traditionally drawn poorly, New Jersey Nets CEO Brett Yormark told WCBS Sports Director Jared Max, "We have to ideate as much as possible - throw as much the wall - and occasionally, some good things come back. In this particular case with our unemployment program, we've nailed it."
There will be 300 tickets released per game on a first-come, first-served basis. You will also get access to a career fair the Nets are hosting on Saturday, November 22, 2008.
In addition to sending your resume to season ticket holders and team sponsers that join the program, the Nets' own human resources department could end up calling you with a job offer..
"Unemployment is on the rise in the metropolitan area, so we want to offer our fans that are between jobs some help in finding a job, as well as a chance to relieve some stress by coming to a Nets game,” said Nets CEO Brett Yormark. “We are committed to investing in our fans now, and hopefully they will invest in us when times are better.”
