New Jersey Stopping Highway Work Over the Holidays
|
TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- New Jersey will be halting highway work that could clog traffic over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Road crews will stop from 6 tomorrow morning until noon Monday.
Transportation Commissioner Kris Kolluri says the state expects as much as a 15 percent increase in traffic volume during the holiday weekend.
Motorists should expect traffic volume on Routes 1, 4, 17, 38, 42 and 295.
The state plans to deploy emergency service patrols to help motorists with disabled vehicles.
