One Million Bumbo Baby Sitter Seats Recalled

WASHINGTON (AP)  -- There's been a recall of a baby seat that's been involved in some serious injuries.

A South African company, Bumbo International, is recalling about 1 million ``Baby Sitter'' seats. This, after 28 reports of babies falling out of the seats. According to a government safety group, there were three skull fractures.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says babies are at risk for serious head injuries when the seats are placed on a table, countertop, chair or other raised surface and the infants arch their backs. That could cause them to flip out of the seats and fall onto the floor.

The commission says consumers should never use the seat on a table or elevated surface.

The seats, manufactured in South Africa, were sold by Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, Toys ``R'' Us, Babies ``R'' Us, USA Baby and other toy and children's stores nationwide and online from August 2003 through October 2007.

For more information, consumers can call 877-932-8626 or visit http://www.bumbosafety.com or http://www.cpsc.gov.
