Prostitution Ring Nabs 18 Men

SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. (AP) -- Police in suburban Rockland County say 15 men have been accused of soliciting an undercover female officer and three men dressed as women are accused of offering sex for money to male undercovers.
Spring Valley police say Sunday morning's arrests occurred downtown. The village of Spring Valley is 22 miles north of New York City.
Police say undercover male officers were solicited by three transvestites; the female undercover was solicited by 15 men in 2-1/2 hours.
The three transvestites were charged with prostitution, a misdemeanor. The 15 men were charged with patronizing a prostitute, also a misdemeanor. Police seized seven of the men's vehicles.
The 18 men charged were freed without bail pending prosecution in Spring Valley Court. |
