CONSUMER CONFIDENCE...
(AP) - The Conference Board is expected to report consumer confidence rose slightly in October compared with the previous month. Economists polled by Thomson Reuters predict the confidence index will rise to 53.5, from 53.1 in September. A reading above 90 means the economy is on solid footing. Above 100 signals strong growth.


CAR RELIABILITY...
(CBS) - Consumer Reports today releases the results of its annual auto reliability survey. 


JOBLESS & HOMEBUYERS...
(CBS) - A bill that extends unemployment benefits by up to 20 weeks faces a key test vote in the Senate today. Some senators are trying to add a homebuyer tax credit extension to the measure.
