PITTSTOWN, NY (AP) -- State police say an eastern New York man died after the commercial mower he was riding tipped over on him while he was mowing his lawn.
Troopers in Rensselaer County say 65-year-old David Busby was mowing a steep embankment on his property in Pittstown, 20 miles northeast of Albany, when his John Deere mower overturned Tuesday afternoon.
Troopers say Busby was pinned underneath the vehicle, which caught fire.
Local firefighters responded to the scene and put out the fire.
Busby was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy is being conducted Wednesday at Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
