Thunderstorm Watch; Flash Flood Warnings

NEW YORK (WCBS 880)  -- A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued until 8p.m. tonight for southern Connecticut, southern New York and northern New Jersey.

A water spout has been confirmed off the coast of Long Island.

The National Weather Service warns of strong thunderstorms that will impact eastern Nassau and western Suffolk Counties. The thunderstorms are moving east and should be out of Long Island by 3p.m.

There are also flash flood warnings for for southern Connecticut until 4:45p.m. and  for central Nassau County until 3:30p.m.
