Woman Killed by Metro North Train Identified

BEDFORD HILLS, N.Y. (AP) -- A woman struck and killed by a Manhattan-bound commuter train in one of New York's northern suburbs has been identified.
A Metro North spokesman says 61-year-old Marion Sanders, of Somers, was standing on the tracks about one mile north of the Somers station in Westchester on Thursday night. The spokesman says the woman did not move when the engineer blasted the train horn.
The spokesman says the engineer hit the emergency brakes but the train could not stop [LoHud.com] in time and fatally struck Sanders. |
