The Museum at Bethel Woods opens today on the same Sullivan County site that was trampled under by some 400,000 people in August 1969. The museum tells the story of the generation-defining concert and the noisy decade that led up to it.
The museum casts the concert as the culmination of many '60s cultural trends. It's about 80 miles northwest of New York City and is part of a $100 million music and arts center.
