SEA GIRT, NJ (AP) -- If you rent a shore place in Sea Girt and plan to play beer pong with your friends on the lawn or deck, the Borough Council has a message for you: You're flagged.
Responding to neighbors' complaints about noisy partying by summer renters, the council passed an ordinance Wednesday night that outlaws beer pong and other drinking games played on private property but in public view.
It sets fines for anyone involved in drinking games or chugging contests on private lawns, decks or porches -- or any other spot visible from a public sidewalk or street.
The penalty for a first offense is $100. Landlords can also be fined.
