NEW YORK (AP) -- New York City Transit says it is adding 850 hybrid buses to the fleet it operates. The agency says it already has 548 hybrid buses in services. The additional buses would be added over the next two years.
The hybrid buses get better fuel economy than those with gasoline engines and emit less harmful exhaust.
