Would New York City Secede from New York State?

Councilman Vallone Jr. want to propose New York City secede from the rest of the state. What would you name New York City as a state?

A good idea... if they get Spitzer as part of the deal.

Call it South NY. But just as NYC has 11B reasons to want to secede, Albany has 11B reasons to say NO. The secession of Staten Island from NYC has the same issue.

Mayor Nuts and Vallone are out of their minds. The City is the heart of the State and to turn our backs on Upststate, Westchester, Long Island..etc is unthinkable.

We keep the name New York and force them to change their name to Albany.

We call it Bloomberg State and make Michael Rubens Bloomberg our Governor.

We don't secede, just stop sending Albany our cash. Afterwards, we kick them out.

I agree, If we stop giving them our cash, the upstate region will starve. They will beg to join our state.

manhattan,queens, brooklyn, the bronx, westchester, nassau, and suffolk counties should secede and call themselves New Amsterdam. Staten Island should become part of New Jersey.
