New York City Ballet Sues Over Workout Video
|
NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York City Ballet has filed a lawsuit claiming it was cheated by a British company that produced a workout video based on the ballet company's workout techniques.
The lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan claimed that Palm Pictures Limited failed to pay the ballet company royalties it was owed for the ``New York City Ballet Workout.''
The video consisted of workout exercises featured in the New York City Ballet Workout Book, the suit claimed.
The nonprofit ballet company was supposed to receive half of all net receipts, according to the terms of a licensing agreement signed in May 2003, the lawsuit said.
