ESPN Picture: Live Shot or Lie Shot?




NEW YORK (WCBS 880)  -- Something wasn't right about ESPN's presentation of a baseball game.

WCBS880 Sports Director Jared Max was watching the Yankees-Mets game on ESPN Sunday night. When they came back from commercial, he saw this on TV:



When he looked outside, he saw this:



Do you see the difference? Well, look closely at the Empire State Building. You'll see Christmas time red and green in the ESPN picture and a mixed Mets-Yankees lighting scheme in real life.

Most would assume that, given ESPN commentators having mentioned the weather, it was a live shot. All you had to do was look out at the skyline to see that it was, instead, stock footage of Manhattan.
