MORRISTOWN
The Morristown National Historical Park is celebrating its 75th birthday in high style over the Independence Day weekend with picnics, fireworks and a free concert. At 2 p.m. on Friday, July 4, the Washington's Headquarters Museum will be rededicated, and the Declaration of Independence will be recited. Visitors are advised to bring chairs or blankets. The museum and adjacent Ford Mansion will be open for self-guided tours throughout the day. For more details, call the national park at (973) 539-2016, ext. 232 or ext. 210.

FLORHAM PARK
Florham Park's former firehouse will officially re-open as a fire museum, at its new location on Brooklake Road at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 4. The ribbon-cutting and flag raising ceremony will kick off the borough's annual Fourth of July parade. The building is located next to the existing Florham Park Volunteer Fire Department at 315 Brooklake Road. The parade will begin at Ridgedale Avenue and Brooklake Road. Florham Park's 51st annual Fourth of July celebration continues at Borough Hall with a Family Picnic featuring kiddie rides and games, petting zoo and pony rides from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. A "Social Garden" will take place from noon to 3 p.m., where attendees must be at least 21 years old to enter, with music by a Mariachi band. The celebration concludes at 8 p.m. in Emmet Field with a concert by RB Express, followed by fireworks when the 30-foot high American flag will be unfurled. Rain date is Saturday, July 5. MOUNTAIN LAKES
Local residents can kick off the Mountain Lakes Fourth of July celebration by joining the annual 4th of July Fun Races at the Mountain Lakes Club, at 18 Lake Drive. Sign-ups begin at 9:30 a.m. and races start at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 4. The annual fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m. over Mountain Lake. A rain date is set for 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. PARSIPPANY
Parsippany's Fourth of July Celebration will take place at Parsippany Hills High School on Thursday, July 3. The festivities will begin at 8 p.m. with a concert featuring "Somers Dream Orchestra."
