Terrorist Suspect Targeted NYC Landmarks

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- Aafia Siddiqui is a Pakistani woman charged with trying to kill U.S. employees in a gunfight in Afghanistan.

A Major Catch
According to the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, when she was captured, she had documents describing United States landmarks, including New York City.
ABC News reports that the specific targets included the Statue of Liberty, the subway system, and Times Square.
Siddiqui was brought to the United States last week to face attempted murder and assault charges.
Prosecutors say she snatched a soldier's rifle and pointed it at an Army captain. The woman's family has insisted that she is not guilty.
Siddiqui sat in a wheelchair Monday as a U.S. magistrate judge ordered medical care for her.
Siddiqui's lawyers say her health is worsening from wounds she sustained in the July 18 gunfight.
Siddiqui is 36-years-old and once lived in the United States.
According to Wikipedia, she studied at both the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, MA and Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
