It comes just hours before John McCain makes his acceptance speech tonight at the convention in St. Paul.

Utah Governor Jon Huntsman formally placed Palin's name in nomination for the vice presidential spot on the ticket. He said, ``We are looking for a beacon of light to show us the way. ... We are looking for Sarah.''

Meanwhile, Palin is blaming supporters of the Democratic presidential ticket for spreading what she calls ``misinformation and flat-out lies'' about her and her family.

But her spokeswoman said Obama's campaign was not responsible, even though a Palin fund-raising letter refers to ``Obama-Biden Democrats.''

Obama has said Palin's family should be off-limits and that he would fire any staffer who talks about it.
