New Jersey Officials Say Retailers Sold Expired Baby Formula
|
NEWARK, NJ (AP) -- Consumer affairs officials in New Jersey say Wal-Mart, Target and Drug Fair sold baby formula and nonprescription drugs after their sell-by dates.
The state also alleges the companies charged more for back-to-school items at checkout than the prices posted at the display.
Investigators checked 48 Drug Fair stores, 15 Wal-Marts and 21 Targets in the Garden State.
In 2004, Wal-Mart signed an agreement with the state not to sell nonprescription drugs with expired sell-by dates.
