Raritan May Ban Older Teens from Sidewalk Biking
RARITAN, NJ (AP) -- Raritan might ban teenagers older than 14 from riding their bicycles on downtown sidewalks.
Mayor Jo-Ann Liptak says she and some other residents have felt threatened as older cyclists whiz past them.
Children younger than 14 would be permitted to ride their bikes on the pedestrian thoroughfares in the downtown area.
Raritan's council is expected to introduce the ordinance during the Oct. 14 meeting and it's scheduled for adoption on Oct. 28.
