Zagat Guide Spotlights Newark

NEWARK, NJ (AP) -- Newark's restaurants are getting a chance to shine.
Monday kicks off the city's first Restaurant Week. Participating restaurants will feature discounts up to 15 percent.
Newark's food also will be spotlighted by Zagat's dining guide.
The guides feature consumer reviews of restaurants in dozens of major cities around the country and have become entrenched in pocket books and briefcases across the country.
Zagat's co-founders Tim and Nina Zagat are scheduled to meet with Mayor Cory A. Booker Monday to announce the first Zagat's guide focusing on Newark.
The Newark guide, titled ``Spotlight on Newark Restaurants,'' is scheduled to be published by the end of the year and will be available at the Prudential Center and in local hotels.
