NEW YORK (WCBS) -- Seriously, the meatballs at Apizz (Ah-beets) are like an out of body experience. the block is a little sketchy, but what block on the Lower East side isn't? Part of the charm in this super cool restaurant that was converted from a garage!
The self taught chef/owner John Lafemina also has another scrumptious eaterie called the Orchard (a little easier to pronounce but just as yummy). He also wrote an acclaimed memoir called A MAN AND HIS MEATBALLS!
If you can find better meatballs in Manhattan, let me know. Go ahead, I dare you.
