NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- UPDATE (3:53p)The fire is almost out completely, we are looking at video of white smoke coming out of the tanker truck. The Turnpike Authority says they'll be working on road repairs starting tonight.
A tanker truck is on fire near the Xanadu. Black smoke is billowing out and causing some rubber-neck delays on the NJ Turnpike. Traffic Reporter Lori Jordan says the fire is on the northbound western spur near the 16W ramp. The northbound ramp is closed but you are still able to get on the Turnpike via the southbound ramp.
NJ Transit Rail Lines will be cross-honoring with the NJT buses from New York Penn Station.
The tanker truck is fully engulfed in flames.
Reporter Levon Putney took these two photos of the fire.
Reporter Peter Haskell says that emergency crews are arriving at the scene.
