NEW YORK (WCBS) -- The Museum of Arts and Design inaugurates its new home at 2 Columbus Circle with Second Lives:Remixing the Ordinary. This amazing exhibition features 54 artists from 18 different countries who transform discarded, commonplace objects into unbelievable works of art. You know how you always have a stack of phone books laying around that you never use, especially since the invention of google? Well, it is unfathomable and truly inspiring to see what these artists have done using spools of thread, dog tags, tires, you name it. And you can even take a deeper look into how each one was made via these touch screen monitors that accompany the works.
The building is amazing too, renovated to keep it's original, funky, 70's design. There's even a cafe at the top and a theatre in the basement where they hold panels and indie film festivals.
So go get happy at M.A.D.
