Could NYC Become Like New Orleans?

NEW YORK (WCBS-AM)  -- Bestselling author Douglas Brinkley visited the WCBS studios to talk about his newest book, "The Great Deluge: Hurricane Katrina, New Orleans, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast".

Through his lengthy research, Brinkley details how political leaders -- from New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin to President Bush -- dropped the ball before, during and after last August's monumental storm.

Professor Brinkley goes in depth about how New York City would manage in such a natural disaster. He warns that people should not rely on the government to save them.

Brinkley spoke with WCBS sports director Jared Max, who was Doug's student fifteen years ago at Hofstra University and also a subject in his book, "The Majic Bus: An American Odyssey".
