Clinton Neighbor Sentenced to 25 Years to Life in Wife's Murder

WHITE PLAINS, NY (AP)  -- A man who lived down the street from Bill and Hillary Clinton in New York City's northern suburbs when he killed his wife will be spending his next quarter-century in prison.

Carlos Perez-Olivo was sentenced Tuesday to the maximum 25 years to life, two months after his second-degree murder conviction.

Westchester County Court Judge Barbara Zambelli called him ``a master of deceit who contrived a diabolical plan.''

The 59-year-old disbarred lawyer was found guilty of shooting his schoolteacher wife, Peggy, in the back of the head as they drove home to Chappaqua in November 2006. Prosecutors say he wanted his wife's life insurance.

Perez-Olivo blamed the attack on a carjacker.
