NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- It was a sight that stuck in people's mind when the economic troubles of 2008 hadn't reached their full speed.
A man with a sandwich board sign over his suit, advertising himself to potential employers as an "MIT Grad" and other information.
"The image struck a chord and went all over the world, and I started getting phone calls and email by the hundreds from all over the world," said Joshua Persky.
Persky was laid off late last year, but he has good news to report to us today. He has found a job!
"I decided to put up a blog called the Oracle of New York, and a recruiter with whom i was in touch was contacted by managing director of Weiser LLP who was looking for a valuations professional who could write. He called me in for an interview and I started this week," said Persky.
WCBS Anchor Steve Scott talks with Persky about his year of unemployment and how an unusual idea made him famous.

"There is a light at the end of the tunnel," he says to those who are struggling with unemployment, "The time will come when you will be employed again."
