NEW YORK (WCBS) -- How about a smart alternative to your usual after work cocktail? Pen Parentis is this very cool series where excellent authors (who are also parents) do short readings followed by Q&A, and it all takes place at the Library Lounge -- located upstairs at Todd English's chic restaurant The Libertine.

It happens every second Tuesday of the month, and coming up March 10th is one of my favorite authors, Rebecca Barry, whose novel Later, At The Bar is heartbreaking and beautifully executed. Reading with her is another mom/author Cara Hoffman.
Admission is free, and there's a full bar. so why not expand your mind during your after work cocktail? The writers that are scheduled are well worth it.
