NEW YORK (WCBS) -- It took me a while to try and figure out how to pronounce Brouwerij. One guy claimed the "j" was pronounced like a "k" and another girl said it was a "ch." I even went to a Belgian Restaurant, but the bartender was from Long Island and the waitresses were from Russia. Long story short, it's pronounced, simply, "brewery." Duh. Classic case of trying to over complicate matters. Now that you know how to pronounce it, head over to Brouwerij Lane in Brooklyn's trendy Greenpoint neighborhood, especially if you're a beer lover. The place basically has every hard to find beer known to mankind. And it's got a homey vibe, complete with a wood burning stove (lets hope we don't have to use that for too much longer).
Beer abounds at Brouwerij Lane, 78 Greenpoint Ave (at Franklin). They don't have a phone (this is cool I guess) but there is an email address - (ed@ravenbrands.com)
