NEW YORK (WCBS 880) -- It took eight days for the jury to return the not guilty verdict for two Ocean Beach cops.
Chief George Hess and Officer Arnold Hardman have been acquitted of the most serious charges against them, including first degree gang assault and reckless endangerment.
WCBS Reporter Sophia Hall finds out prosecutors said that tourist Sam Gilberd was beaten so badly by the cops that his bladder ruptured. But defense attorneys argued that Gilbrand was drunk and he was injured after he fell on a scooter in the police station.
Jurors are still deadlocked on two misdemeanor charges, third-degree assault and official misconduct.
The jury will continue to deliberate on those charges on Monday.
