Photo Gallery: There Used to Be a Baseball Stadium Here
It turns out there is some evidence of Shea Stadium's existence. There are markers where the bases, home plate, and the pitcher's mound once were. The New York Mets now play at Citi Field, which occupies the space where Shea Stadium's parking lot once was. Tom Kaminski, flying high in Chopper 880, snapped these photographs on Friday, May 22, 2009.
