The Sagtikos Manor Historical Society's mission is to preserve and promote historical research for the Sagtikos Manor. Built in 1697 it is the oldest house in the Town of Islip, Long Island. The Sagtikos Manor is owned and maintained by Suffolk County. To ensure its preservation we are contracted to give tours of the Manor House and fund many of its restoration projects. We achieve this through special events, fund raisers grants and genergous donations.
We also maintain the George L. Weeks, Jr. Library. The library contains reference material pertaining to the history to Islip Town and the surrounding South Shore Area.
