Jim Taylor

Jim Taylor is what's called an 'inside reporter'. That means, hanging out inside the newsroom and follow up on whatever news is breaking: making phone calls and getting information on the air as quickly as possible.

The title does not preclude him from hitting the streets in search of reaction to the day's events. Taylor absolutely loves that every day; every minute of his job is different from the one before. Because WCBS Newsradio covers breaking news, the newsroom often doesn't know what they’ll be doing today, or the next minute. 'Leaping into the void' Taylor calls it. It's a daily thrill and he thrives on it.

Before coming to WCBS 880, Taylor been a one-man news department all over Northern California and even spent a year spinning the hits in Hawaii.  Most recently, he worked for 15 years at the San Francisco sister station, KCBS. There, Taylor acquired a number of journalism awards including California Reporter of the Year. However, the award he’s most proud of his punt, pass and kick regional  award from 1961. Taylor has been a one-man news department all over Northern California and even spent a year spinning the hits in Hawaii.
