The 411 Stories of the Day - Friday, June 19, 2009

US OPEN...
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - Some golf fans are annoyed at the USGA, which says it's offering sympathy, but not refunds, to people who didn't get to see much golf at the US Open on Long Island yesterday because of rain.

CASH FOR CLUNKERS...
(AP) - Car shoppers could take advantage of government incentives worth up to $4,500 this summer to send their old gas guzzler to the scrap heap in favor of a more fuel-efficient new vehicle. President Barack Obama is expected to sign into law the "cash for clunkers" program, which was approved by the Senate on Thursday.

PROSTATE CANCER...
(CBS) - A new study says two advanced prostate cancer patients were made cancer free thru an experimental technique. The study's being released at 2pm.

FATHER'S DAY SURVEY...
(CBS) - Fewer working fathers are willing to be stay-at-home dads then in previous years, finds CareerBuilder's Annual Father's Day Survey. As working fathers face increased financial pressure, fewer are willing to give up the traditional breadwinner role.
